Pat Campbell Fall Newsletter, December 2007
Hello Friends,
As usual I’m tardy in getting news out to you loyal Pat Campbell fans. Well, the news is good. Pat continues to improve in small increments. We have been busy since I last wrote and we have some exciting new fabric for spring.
Our Travels This Fall
We traveled to a full schedule of Shooting Matches this fall. The regional Black Powder match, the Southwest Regional Championship match, a big match in English, Texas over Halloween weekend, the Texas State Rifle Association match, and “Defending Old Fort Parker,” a large match to raise funds for maintaining the original fort and settlement, which is not part of the state park that bears its name.
This schedule kept us on the run all fall. John did well at these events and Pat enjoyed the social time and dressing up for the award dinners. At the Fort Parker shoot we were awarded the “Cattle Baron and Cattle Baroness” costume prize.
Pat and John get Best Dressed Cattle Baron and Baroness Award.
Our Trip to the Houston Quilt Show
We managed to fit a trip to the Houston Quilt show into our fall schedule this year. I felt that Pat was up to it, and we have really missed seeing our friends and fellow teachers at Houston in the past couple of years. We traveled to Houston on Wednesday and visited the Teachers Room for a few hours before checking into our hotel, then we attended the opening night of the quilt show. We saw lots of old friends and they were thrilled to see Pat. On Thursday we went to the quilt show again for several hours. We walked the show and hung out with friends in their booths when Pat got tired and had to rest. Next year we hope to attend the Market and the quilt show both.
Alex Anderson and Ricky Timms were busy signing up folks for their new format show and we hung out with them in their booth for rests between exploring the show. Interest in their new show seems GREAT, and quilters were lined up to sign up for their show. Alex took some pictures and put the good news about Pat being back at Houston on her blog, which is attached to their website, http://www.thequiltshow.com

NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS
We have been working with Timeless Treasures Fabric Company to develop a new Pat Campbell fabric line. This took a lot of cooperation and understanding from Timeless Treasures. The project was more work for them than their usual designer line, and we appreciate their time and effort in putting together this new line.
The new line is called Jacobean Arbor and will be introduced to buyers at the Spring Market. It’s a great line, with all that you expect from a Pat Campbell fabric collection; Classic Jacobean patterns and bold “Pat Campbell” colors. It is a feast for the eyes with lots of “too pretty to cut” fabrics. Ask your quilt store buyer to be sure to get the line in your store this spring. You’ll want to have all these fabrics in your stash.
Happy Holidays,
John
