Provided for you: pattern, appliqué pins, needles, and thread

You need to bring: thimble, pin cushion, sandpaper board*, scissors (embroidery-type and paper-cutting), mechanical lead pencil, one large sheet template plastic (18" X 24"), one yard of background fabric.
Fabrics: A colorful assortment of fabric; e.g., two-color prints (tone on tone), large tropicals, hand-dyes or hand painted fabrics. A wonderful brown for a tree trunk and stems, lush greens for leaves, and an exciting array of colors for flowers and berries

*For those who don't know, a sandpaper board is simply a small piece of fine sandpaper adhered to a piece of plywood, foamcore, old clip board or manila folder. Its purpose is to keep your fabric from moving while tracing templates.
