Provided for you: template-ready pattern, needles, thread, and appliqué pins

You need to bring: scissors (paper cutting and embroidery-type), pin cushion, thimble, white marking pencil, mechanical lead pencil, sandpaper board*, fat quarter of background fabric.
Fabrics: a colorful assortment, e.g., two-color prints (tone on tone), large tropical prints, hand-dyes, including greens and brown for leaves and tree trunk plus a variety of flower colors.

*For those who don't know, a sandpaper board is simply a small piece of fine sandpaper adhered to a piece of plywood, foamcore, old clip board or manila folder. Its purpose is to keep your fabric from moving while tracing templates.
